Towards equity

Skills Recognition originated as a way of addressing social inequity, but has not been as successful in this regard as was originally envisaged. The process attempts to recognise all forms of learning—formal, informal and non-formal—and then strives to match skills with competencies for those who have not had opportunities to access structured education and training. Skills Recognition helps identify learning pathways towards qualifications through recognition of learning in its broadest sense. It can assist organisations to reach more potential and current employees.
